It is therefore not surprising that the potential for its application in real estate transactions has received significant attention in recent yea rs. However\, beyond improving the efficiency and security\, blockchain al so has implications for the functioning of real estate markets. By drastic ally accelerating the sales process and reducing transaction costs\, it co uld affect the very nature of the pricing mechanism and create new challen ges in managing buildings. Moreover\, the new technology has potentially f ar-reaching consequences for both the urban environments and broader socia l/societal structures and may impose the need for new governance arrangeme nts. This presentation develops such newly arising questions.\nPresentatio n by:\n\n\nDr Sabine Dörry (Financial geographer / economic geographer) i s a Senior Research Fellow at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic R esearch (LISER) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Lu xembourg. Sabine graduated from the Dresden University of Technology (Germ any) and completed her doctorate (Economic Geography) at the Goethe-Univer sity Frankfurt am Main (Germany).\n\n \;\n\n \;\n\n \;\n\n&nbs p\;\n\nand\n\nDr Jarek Morawski is Professor for Digital Real Estate and D ata Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Aschaffenburg\, Ge rmany and responsible for Research and Strategy at Grosvenor Europe\, Luxe mbourg.
